OFFICIAL AVENGERS: ENDGAME PROMO COSTUMES RELEASED
We’ve been in a state of wonder about what exactly the new suits and costumes of Endgame will look like. We caught an idea of them with the very first promotional art that was released, but now we have an even clearer view. This new promotional image comes from the Orville Redenbacher popcorn company (of all things). It’s a part of and Endgame-themed contest that the company is running.
The image depicts the first six original Avengers in their Endgame attire. We have Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye (or Ronin as he appears in this movie).
Captain America
Captain America’s suit is one of the cooler looking images of this promotion because of a very noticeable detail. His pauldron is sporting a vivid Avengers logo on it. He’s officially back in the fold and no longer Punished Cap. The suit itself also looks more like his classic comic uniform than even the suit from the first Avengers. Weirdly enough, he doesn’t have his shield in this image, but considering how he was shaking when he first donned in the big game teaser, we know it’s coming.
Iron Man
We were teased a few months ago about what armor Iron Man would be wearing for the end of his journey in Endgame, and now we have a look at it in this promotion. The Mark 85 is indeed happening. The Endgame trailer shows off Tony and Nebula performing some feats of engineering on the Benatar. Maybe instead of working on the ship, Tony’s attempting to craft this new suit before his oxygen runs out and use that as a means for survival.
In Infinity War, Tony used the mark 50 or bleeding edge armor and wasn’t able to get much done with it. Tony, being the ingenuitive guy he is, always looks for the next upgrade when it comes to his armors, so if he’s planning on going beyond an armor that was nanomachine based and could morph itself into any weapon his imagination could conjure, it’s going to be amazing to see what he can pull off with this suit.
Hulk
As you probably expected, the Hulk is the most interesting figure to come out of this promotional art. We’ve all known that Professor Hulk would more than likely be making his debut in the MCU in Endgame from other promotions we’ve seen, but it’s never been more prominent until now.
As the promotionals for Endgame have progressed, the Hulk has looked less and less like the Hulk and more and more like his scientist counterpart, Bruce. This image shows this progression more than any other. Bruce’s face may as well have been superimposed on the Hulk in this image--the sides of Hulk's hair is even greying.
We even have a better look at the suit Hulk is wearing in this image--a black and grey mix laced with traces of Hulk’s trademark purple. Funny enough, unlike the classic comics, the MCU hasn’t had Hulk in purple pants with his every appearance, although, how the Hulk doesn’t just tear through Bruce’s pants at all is still a mystery. Either way, the MCU still decided to give a nod to classic Hulk in Banner-Hulk’s new design.
Thor
Thor’s outfit hasn’t changed from what he had on in Infinity War, which makes sense. Thor’s original outfit was destroyed when he took the energy of a star to his face. The one he has in Infinity War is new and was unscathed by the end of Infinity War, so there would be no reason for him to take on a new appearance.
Black Widow
For the most part, Natashia retains her sleek black design as per usual, but there are some differences in her outfit in comparison to the previous. For one, the implied-armor accents on her stomach are new as the typical suits are entirely black. Her belt is different as well, sporting a red marker on the clicked together belt buckle. This new red design appears in traces along the rest of her suit as well. There are two small traces of red just off to the sides of her rib cage. More noticeable. The band of the gadget on her left arm has a red band on it as well. They probably threw in this red design to acknowledge her namesake; she is called Black Widow, and the spiders of the same name have red on their bodies and are not just simply black all over (although Black Widow's original hair color offset that ).
Speaking of Natasha's hair, it's been blond since Infinity War. She even had blond hair in the Endgame trailer as well. The change in hair color was brought on by the fact that she was on the run from the law after helping Steve Rogers and his team escape Tony back in Civil War. But, in this promotional, we see that she’s dyed her hair back to red. At least for the most part. The bottom of her ponytail reveals that she still has blond mixed in with it.
Hawkeye
Black Widow somewhat obscures Hawkeye in this image, but his outfit is different. The Avengers Endgame trailer showed him off in his Ronan outfit: the hooded armor that replaced his bow and arrows with a sword instead. This promotional art shows him off in the Hawkeye attire we got in the Big Game TV Spot trailer. We have the bow and arrows and everything. Endgame is supposed to feature a journey made for Hawkeye, so we may see him switch between personas in the film.
